This category collects articles about villages (derevni) of Nizhny Novgorod and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. Unlike selos, derevni historically had no church, though many of them eventually became part of the city limits or of larger districts. Such settlements include Ankudinovka in Kstovsky District, where a new polyclinic is under construction, Mordvintsevo and Kuzminki, which became part of Nizhny Novgorod. The villages of Voskresensky District — Shadrino and Shurgovash — represent the rural hinterland of the oblast, neighboring such natural landmarks as Lake Svetloyar.
