Prudovka is a village in the Mikhaleninsky Village Council of Varnavino Okrug, Nizhny Novgorod Region. On January 1, 2027, its administrative status will change: the village will be reclassified as a khutor (an isolated farmstead).[1]
Status reclassification
In August–September 2026, Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin signed laws changing the administrative-territorial structure of the region, which had been adopted by the Legislative Assembly on August 27, 2026. Among other changes affecting Chkalovsk and Varnavino Okrugs, the laws provided for the reclassification of the village of Prudovka (Mikhaleninsky Village Council) as a khutor. At the same time, the village of Antonikha in the Bogorodsky Village Council of the same okrug received the same status.[6]
The official reason is the elimination of duplicate names of populated places within a single okrug, which create difficulties when working with the Federal Information Address System.[1] All of the adopted regulatory acts take effect simultaneously, on January 1, 2027.[2]
Earlier, in the same Mikhaleninsky Village Council of Varnavino District, the uninhabited rural settlement of Elevaya Zavod was abolished.[1]
