Bolshaya Elnya, colloq. Bolelnya — a village in Kstovo District of Nizhny Novgorod Region, not far from the "MEGA" shopping complex. It lies near the edge of Nizhny Novgorod on the ring road connecting Shcherbinki and Verkhniye Pechery.
It is known for the children's sanatorium of the same name (founded in 1963, territory of 7 hectares) and for the syncretic temple of Matushka Fotinia (Frolova), where, among other things, a myrrh-streaming icon of Putin is venerated.
That said, Bolshaya Elnya also has a traditional Orthodox parish. It is currently served by Father Aleksey. The parish in Bolshaya Elnya was previously headed by Father Georgy.

In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, on the Bolshaya Elnya – Olgino road, a Lamborghini crashed and burned.
A Lamborghini collided with a Chevrolet Aveo on Tuesday afternoon near Nizhny Novgorod; as a result, one of the world's most expensive foreign cars burned down and four people were injured, the Emergency Situations Ministry for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reports. "A road accident occurred at the third kilometer of the Bolshaya Elnya – Olgino road in Kstovo District. A Lamborghini and a Chevrolet Aveo collided. As a result of the accident the Lamborghini caught fire; four people were injured — three from the Chevrolet Aveo and one from the Lamborghini," the report said. The injured were hospitalized at the regional Semashko Regional Clinical Hospital and the district hospital in Kstovo. According to unofficial information, the Lamborghini was passing through the Nizhny Novgorod Region on transit plates. |
