Semikov Stanislav Aleksandrovich (born September 19, 1947) — a wood-carving artist, puppet designer for the Puppet Theatre).
Education
Graduated from the Gorky Polytechnic Institute (GPI) named after A.A. Zhdanov.
Key facts of his career
Since 1978 he has worked as an artist-designer of puppets. He interned at the puppet theatre named after S.V. Obraztsov and at the Leningrad Grand Puppet Theatre. He has built the mechanics of puppets for more than 50 productions. During the theatre's touring trips to cities across Russia, Belgium, Germany, Spain, and Poland, he helped other theatres create props and puppets. During a trip to Germany he presented his own exhibition and master classes titled "What You Can Make from Wood, and How." He became interested in artistic wood carving in 1957. He took part in city, regional, and interregional exhibitions of decorative and applied art, and is a repeated laureate and diploma winner.
Since 1999 he has worked professionally on the design and production of exclusive furniture made from solid valuable wood species, decorated with his own carving. Since 2002 he has been a member of the "Craft Gallery)" trade union of masters of decorative and applied art. He has been recognized with a letter of thanks from the regional Regional Legislative Assembly for his creative and public activity.
