Grebnoy Canal Embankment is a street in Nizhny Novgorod running along the bank of the Grebnoy Canal in Pechyorskaya Sloboda. It is part of the waterfront infrastructure linking the city's upland part with the Volga floodplain.
Location and transport links
The Pechyorsky Descent, starting from the Sennaya bus station, leads down to Grebnoy Canal Embankment. The section of the embankment opposite houses No. 356a–380 of Pechyorskaya Sloboda was considered as a site for a yacht club: the construction permit was issued to Dorinvest, registered at 11 Pamirskaya Street; 100% of the company was owned by Anton Averin.
Redevelopment plans
In May 2020, Grebnoy Canal Embankment was included among the sites whose development concepts were presented as part of the "#Sreda800" program marking the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod. The online presentation was organized by the Institute for the Development of the Urban Environment of Nizhny Novgorod Region (IRGSNO): during a series of broadcasts on the institute's YouTube channel, residents of Nizhny Novgorod were shown redevelopment projects for Grebnoy Canal Embankment alongside the Volzhskaya, Okskaya, and Nizhne-Volzhskaya Embankment, as well as a number of the city's squares and boulevards.
