The cremation complex in Dzerzhinsk is a crematorium construction project approved on September 16, 2026, by the Council on Land and Property Relations under the Government of Nizhny Novgorod Region. The investor is Spetskomplekt LLC. If realized, the facility will become the second crematorium in Nizhny Novgorod Region.[1]
Project Parameters
For the construction of the complex, the investor has been granted a lease on a land plot of 22,496.96 sq. m (approximately 2.25 hectares).[2] The total investment will amount to 335 million rubles, with a planned implementation period of 30 months (approximately 2.5 years).[1] The precise specifications of the complex, its location within Dzerzhinsk, and the start date of construction works were not disclosed at the time the decision was made: approval by the land council signifies the authorization of the plot, after which the investor must complete the necessary permitting procedures.[1]
Context: Crematoria in Nizhny Novgorod Region
The region's only crematorium operating at that time was built in 2017 in the Sormovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod on Zaytseva Street, adjacent to Novo-Sormovskoe Cemetery.[3] Approximately 20 cremations are performed there each day.[1] Affiliated with this facility is the public memorial complex "Sad imeni" ("Garden of Names"), created by artists in the crematorium's inner courtyard.[1]
Meeting of the Land Council on September 16, 2026
At the same session, the council reviewed a total of 13 investment projects; the combined volume of approved investments is estimated at 6.4 billion rubles.[4] Among the other sites approved that day were a distribution center and a private industrial park belonging to Alliance Group of Companies in Dzerzhinsk (approximately 4 billion rubles), as well as two hotel facilities belonging to Pro Capital LLC: one in Borsky District (65 million rubles) and one in Bogorodsky District (55 million rubles). The question of a hotel on Gogol Street in Nizhny Novgorod was postponed due to disagreements.[4]
