The Russian agro-industrial exhibition "Golden Autumn" is an annual federal industry event devoted to the achievements of agriculture and related sectors. It is held in Moscow; by 2026 at least 28 editions had taken place (the 28th exhibition was held in October 2026). It is traditionally timed to coincide with the Day of Agricultural and Processing Industry Workers of Russia, observed on the second Sunday of October.[3] Nizhny Novgorod Region takes part in the exhibition regularly, presenting the products of the region's agro-industrial complex and competing for prizes in the competition programs.[1]
Format and Structure
The exhibition combines exhibition, business, and entertainment components. In 2026, the exhibition area was 14,000 m², the expected number of visitors was about 60,000, and the number of regional delegations was around 70.[4] The exhibition includes three thematic spaces: the "Space of Achievements" (regional and corporate stands, a livestock pavilion), the "Space of Opportunities" (the immersive "Immersion in Agro" zone, a gastronomic festival, a farmers' fair, a youth track), and a business space with more than 60 events, including a plenary session.[4]
The venue has changed over time: in 2014 the exhibition was held at VDNKh[1], and by 2026 at the "Timiryazev Center" educational and exhibition complex (Moscow, Verkhnyaya Alley, 6, building 1). [4] At the center of the 2026 concept are three scientific and technological projects of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia: agrotechnological (selection, seed production, agricultural drones, digital technologies), livestock (genetics, reproduction, animal health), and biotechnological (production of amino acids, vitamins, enzymes, and organic acids).[4]
Nizhny Novgorod Participation
Nizhny Novgorod Region is a systematic participant in the exhibition. In 2014, 54 regions of the country and 2,500 enterprises from 24 countries took part; among the Nizhny Novgorod exhibitors were 6 agricultural enterprises entered in the pedigree livestock competition. OAO Semyanskoye of Vorotynsky District, which has taken part in the exhibition since 2007, had by then already won gold medals in this competition twice. Besides livestock products, the region showed agricultural machinery of its own manufacture — in particular, seeders made by Nizhny Novgorod factories.[1]
In 2018 (the 20th exhibition, October 10–13), Nizhny Novgorod Region was represented at three venues: "Regions of Russia. Foreign Countries," "Festival of National Cultures," and "Livestock Farming and Breeding." Twenty-six Nizhny Novgorod enterprises took part, presenting dairy, meat, canned, confectionery, and flour-milling products. The exhibit was visited by State Duma deputy Dmitry Svatkovsky, who noted the investment potential of the exhibitors: in particular, a major project to build a pig-farming complex was then under way in the Bolshemurashkinskiy District, and Knyagininskoye Moloko planned to double its processing volume.[2]
In 2026 (the 28th exhibition, October 7–10), more than 40 Nizhny Novgorod enterprises presented their products at the region's stand. The delegation was led by Deputy Governor Egor Polyakov; its members included Legislative Assembly Chairman Evgeniy Lyulin, Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources Nikolay Denisov, and representatives of agricultural enterprises and farms. The stand was inspected by Russia's Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut. Among the exhibits were the "Volshebnik" milking robot (the only domestically produced serial milking robot that fully automates the milking process), developments in genomic selection of cows, unmanned aircraft systems for treating fields, as well as meat, sausage, fish, and dairy products, bakery and confectionery goods, mayonnaises, sauces, pickles, and beverages.[3]
