In October 2026, Nizhny Novgorod Region took part in the 28th Russian Agro-Industrial Exhibition "Golden Autumn", held at the Timiryazev Center educational and exhibition complex Timiryazev Center in Moscow from October 7 to 10. The event is traditionally timed to coincide with Agricultural and Food Processing Industry Workers' Day in Russia, celebrated on the second Sunday of October.[1]

Delegation and exhibit

More than 40 Nizhny Novgorod enterprises presented their products at the region's stand.[1] The delegation was headed by Deputy Governor Egor Polyakov; it also included Evgeniy Lyulin, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly, Nikolay Denisov, Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources, as well as heads of agro-industrial enterprises and family farms.[2] The stand was visited by Oksana Lut, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.[3]

The exhibit featured meat, sausage, fish, and dairy products, bakery and confectionery items, mayonnaises and sauces, pickles, and beverages. Among the technological developments was the "Volshebnik" milking robot, billed as the only domestically produced series-built robot of its class, fully automating the milking process. In addition, the stand displayed developments in plant breeding and seed production, a genomic selection project for cows, and unmanned aerial systems for crop treatment.[4]

Two Nizhny Novgorod producers took part in the gastronomic festival held as part of the exhibition — the family farm of N. V. Evstegneeva and the sole proprietorship of A. V. Maksimov.[2]

Performance of the Nizhny Novgorod agro-industrial sector

The main theme of Golden Autumn 2026 — "Navigator of the Russian Agro-Industrial Complex: Technologies for Efficient Growth" — was built around three scientific and technological areas of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture: agrotechnology, animal husbandry, and biotechnology.[1]

Governor Gleb Nikitin reported that in the first half of 2026, 25 investment projects worth more than 5 billion rubles were carried out in the sector. The Region fully supplies itself with grain, potatoes, and eggs and is among Russia's largest exporters of mayonnaise, sauces, margarine, and honey. State support for the agro-industrial complex in 2026 amounted to about 9 billion rubles — roughly 25% more than the previous year.[5]

According to Egor Polyakov, in January–August 2026 gross meat production in the organized sector rose by 11% and egg production by 9%; the region ranks first in the Volga Federal District in potato production.[3] Products of the Nizhny Novgorod agro-industrial complex are supplied to more than 30 countries, including China, India, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Belarus; in January–August 2026, the sector's export volume grew by 46.7% year over year.[4]

Agriculture Minister Nikolay Denisov noted that, over the previous year, products of Nizhny Novgorod agro-industrial enterprises won 106 medals at the "Golden Autumn" show — the largest number of awards among all regions of Russia.[5]
