In September 2026, the Nizhny Novgorod Region's Pochinkovskiy Municipal District saw the completion of repairs on a 14-kilometer section of the road Uzhovka — Rizоvatovo — Madayevo. The work was carried out under the national project "Infrastructure for Life," with a contract value of 242 million rubles.[1]

Significance of the Road

The route connects the settlement of Uzhovka with the selos of Rizоvatovo and Madayevo, and also provides access to Baykovo, Syryatin, Puzskaya Sloboda, and other localities in the district.[2] The road intersects with the federal highway Nizhny Novgorod — Saratov and serves as a bypass route during periods of seasonal traffic restrictions on adjacent sections of the road network.[3]

Progress of the Repairs

The site was included in the 2026 repair program following numerous complaints from residents reporting unsatisfactory road surface conditions.[1] The contractor cleared the right-of-way of shrubs, reinforced the shoulders, laid leveling and surface courses of asphalt concrete, and applied horizontal road markings.[4]

Acting Director of the State Public Institution of Nizhny Novgorod Region "GUAD" Aleksandr Denisov explained that the primary criterion for selecting a site for repairs remains the technical condition of the road, though residents' appeals are also taken into account when drawing up plans.[2]

Future Plans

The total length of the Uzhovka–Rizоvatovo–Madayevo road is approximately 28 km. In 2026, the first 14 km were repaired; repair of the remaining 14 km is scheduled for 2027, after which the entire route is expected to be brought up to standard condition.[5][6]
