In June 2026, construction began in the city of Lyskovo, Nizhny Novgorod Region, on a new general-education school with 550 places on Minin Street.[1] The facility is being built under the state program "Integrated Development of Rural Areas" and the national project "Youth and Children."[2] The initial value of the construction contract was just over 1 billion rubles; funding comes from federal, regional, and local budgets as well as non-budgetary sources.[1]

Construction Progress

By September 2026, a significant volume of preparatory work had been completed on site: the area had been cleared and graded, temporary fencing erected, access roads laid, and a construction camp set up.[2] Pile driving was completed; the next stage involved constructing a monolithic pile cap — a reinforced-concrete structure tying the piles into a unified frame.[1][3] In parallel, installation of a transformer substation for connection to the power grid is under way.[2]

Building Design

According to the project documentation, the school will occupy a three-story building.[3] The building will include canteens, medical units, large and small sports halls, assembly halls, workshops, libraries, museum spaces, and rooms for extracurricular activities.[1] Construction must be completed by August 2028.[1]

Oversight

Progress on the works is publicly reported by the head of the local government of Lyskovsky Municipal District, Aleksandr Kochmarev — in particular, through his own MAX channel.[2]
