Petrov Aleksey Yuryevich (born April 7, 1977, in the City of Gorky) — Professor of the Department of Professional Education at the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Education Development.[1][2] Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor.[1][3][4]

Education

Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University (2000), mechanical engineer, specialization in "automobiles and automotive industry"; Volga State Engineering and Pedagogical Institute, manager/instructor, specialization in "management in the social sphere," with a focus on education management[1]; Volga State Engineering and Pedagogical Academy (2002), additional qualification: "Vysshaya Shkola instructor."

Completed the naval studies department at Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University named after R.E. Alekseyev, qualification: mechanical engineer for the operation and repair of diesel power plants on surface vessels. Senior Lieutenant of the Navy (reserve).

Main Area of Research

Theoretical foundations of the competency-based approach in education; issues of continuous professional development of teaching staff in the course of their professional activities.[5]

Publications

Author of more than 200 published scholarly and instructional-methodological works, including 17 monographs (one in English), 26 textbooks and study guides (2 of which carry the endorsement of the Educational-Methodological Association for Vocational and Pedagogical Education of the Russian Federation), and 37 methodological guidelines.

Under the academic supervision of A.Yu. Petrov, 11 candidate dissertations have been defended.
