Hotel Volna

The closed joint-stock company with foreign investment Volna was registered by the administration of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Governor on 18 April 1995; the company was registered for tax purposes on 1 June of the same year [2].

The company operated in Avtozavodsky District, at 98 Lenin Avenue; its authorized capital was 107,190,000 rubles [2].

The hotel at that address is still in operation today, but under a different legal entity — the limited liability company Hotel Volna, registered on 19 February 2003 [3].

Bankruptcy

In the summer of 2016 the company was declared insolvent: the record of the bankruptcy declaration and the opening of insolvency proceedings was entered into the register on 20 June, and on 22 June Valery Torgashev was appointed bankruptcy trustee [2].

On January 26, 2017, Volna was liquidated pursuant to an arbitration court ruling concluding the bankruptcy proceedings [2].

The hotel business on Lenin Avenue did not cease, however: it continued under a different legal entity registered as far back as 2003 [3].

The address that outlived the company

Lenin Avenue, 98 — the southern part of Avtozavodsky District in Nizhny Novgorod, developed during the Soviet years; the Volna hotel still stands here today [2][3].

The legal entity that now owns it was registered on 19 February 2003 — thirteen years before the bankruptcy of the previous company [3].

Thus, the hotel business at this address went its separate way from the fate of the joint-stock company that Kozlov had managed [2][3].
