Pleskov Vladimir Ivanovich (b. 1908) was one of the founders of the Faculty of Automation and Electromechanics at Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev named after R.E. Alekseev, Candidate of Technical Sciences, professor.

1931 – foreman of the electrical repair shop at the Krasnoye Sormovo Plant; 1931–1935 – senior electrician of the capital construction department at the Verkh-Isetsk Metallurgical Plant; 1931–1951 – chief engineer of electrical equipment design projects for metallurgical plants in the Urals, at a branch of the State Design Institute “Tyazhpromelektroproekt”; from 1951 – at the Gorky Polytechnic Institute.

An active participant in the establishment of the specialty “Electrical Equipment and Automation of Ships,” he was the first head of the Department of Ship Electrical Equipment.
Membership in public, scientific and other organizations
He was a member of the standing commission on electric drives for the metallurgical industry, of the “Electric Drives” section of the Technical and Economic Council of the USSR Council of Ministers State Committee for Automation and Machine Building. He was chairman of the expert commission on electrical engineering and power engineering of the Volga-Vyatka Scientific and Methodological Council of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the RSFSR.
