Popova Vera Rostislavovna

Popova Vera Rostislavovna (b. September 23, 1951) is a candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor, and head of the Department of Social Psychology at Pedagogical University.

She taught at the Nizhny Novgorod Pedagogical College, at the Volga Engineering and Pedagogical University, and at the "Kvarts" training and personnel center.

Methodological support of the educational process, technologization of the educational process, development of students' professional competence, structuring and systematization of curriculum content.

Key facts of her work

She developed more than 20 new curricula, 2 of which — for the system of supplementary education — received a certificate from the Russian Guild of Realtors (Moscow); a manual on introducing senior preschoolers to the world around them received a certificate from the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Methodological Expert Council. She took part in the work of a city authors' collective of scholars and practitioners developing the program "Stabilization and Development of Education in Nizhny Novgorod (1996-1997)," in the experimental testing of the certification and accreditation mechanism for preschool educational institutions (speech development section), on the certification commission for Dzerzhinsk Pedagogical College, and prepared a set of educational and program-methodological documentation for the transition of the Nizhny Novgorod Pedagogical School to college status.

Author of a monograph, 4 educational-methodological manuals, and 25 articles in scholarly collections.

Awards

Laureate of the All-Russian competition for the best student research work, bronze medal of the VDNKh "For Achieved Success in the Development of the National Economy of the USSR," honorary certificates from the Gorky Regional Branch of the Pedagogical Society of the RSFSR, from district departments of public education, from the Ministry of General and Vocational Education, and honorary certificates from NGPU.
