Key facts of his career
From 1956 to 1959 he held engineering positions at enterprises of the Ministry of Defense Industry in Perm. 1959–1963 – service in the Soviet Army. 1964–1967 – postgraduate studies at KAI. In 1967 he defended his candidate's dissertation and stayed on at KAI to teach. In 1973 he defended his doctoral dissertation. From 1973 to 1982 – rector of the Kirov Polytechnic Institute and, concurrently, head of the Department of Physics. From 1982, professor at the Department of "Heat Engineering" of the Gorky Polytechnic Institute. From 1985, head of the Department of "Ship Power Plants" at GPI. Author of more than 100 scholarly and methodological works, and one scholarly monograph.
Field of research
Solid-propellant rocket engines; the general theory of radiative heat transfer in two-phase high-temperature flows.
Membership in public, scientific and other organizations
He was a member of coordinating councils under the Government of the USSR and under the USSR Academy of Sciences.
