"UN Fund" (the predominant name in its own materials), the Fund for Assistance to the UN, the Nizhny Novgorod Fund for Assistance to the UN, the Fund for Assistance to the UN in Nizhny Novgorod and so on — a provincial non-profit public organization that makes money by falsely claiming to represent the United Nations Organization. In order to mislead trusting Nizhny Novgorod officials, it uses symbols that imitate the symbols of UN institutions in the Russian Federation and are confusingly similar to the registered emblems of the UN. The essence of the phenomenon
The "UN Fund" was founded for fundraising (the search for money), under the guise of representatives of a respectable-looking subsidiary structure of the United Nations Organization. Given the technical execution of the project, which is weak by the standards of the capital, the search concentrated mainly on the administration of Nizhny Novgorod and on large organizations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Today a seminar was held in Nizhny Novgorod on the topic "A responsible approach to covering violence and suicide in the world", organized by the administration of Nizhny Novgorod together with the Fund for Assistance to the UN. This event is being held within the framework of the WHO global suicide prevention programme SUPRE, as well as within the framework of the city project "Youth of Nizhny Novgorod". The goal the organizers of the events set themselves is to provide educational information that will help reduce the number of suicides. Taking part in the seminar were consultants of the city helplines, primary health care workers and journalists. The seminar was conducted by Chairman Kamin and Balakin Mikhail, psychologist of the emergency psychological aid centre of the Moscow City Psychological and Pedagogical University, member of the Council of the Russian Association of Emergency Psychological Aid Helplines.

On 18 June a press conference devoted to the creation of the Nizhny Novgorod Union of Correspondents was held at the "АиФ-НН" press centre.
Speaking is Konstantin Borisovich Baranovsky, Chairman of the Union: " The idea of the union did not come by chance. It all grew out of talking with colleagues: we reasoned that it would be good to create an organisation that defends journalists' rights, holds seminars and professional development courses, where journalists, experienced and not so experienced, could exchange experience.
