Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery. On 20 April 2005, the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church decided to reopen the monastery. The monastery was founded around 1555 (according to other sources, 1556) and closed in the 1920s; the revival of the monastery began in 2004, and the first liturgy in the revived monastery was celebrated on Christmas 2006.[2] Address: Nizhny Novgorod Region, the city of Arzamas[2]
