Anna Valeryevna Tatiarintseva (born November 12, 1977, in Nizhny Novgorod) is a Nizhny Novgorod public figure, director of the charitable foundation "Dobroye Delo" ("Good Deed"), and a deputy of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma for two terms: the 6th (2015–2020) and 7th (2020–2025) [3][6]. She was elected to the 6th-term Duma on the municipal party list of A Just Russia, and to the 7th-term Duma from single-member constituency no. 35 in Prioksky District [1][8]. Before entering politics, she was known as the winner of the beauty pageants "Miss Nizhny Novgorod" (1999) and "Krasa Rossii" ("Beauty of Russia") (2002), first vice-miss of "Miss Asia," and a participant in "Miss World" [1][7]. In 2026, she was nominated by the party "A Just Russia — Patriots — For Truth" as a candidate for the State Duma from single-member constituency no. 132 [30][31].
Early life and education
She was born on November 12, 1977, in Nizhny Novgorod [3][7]. She attended School no. 184 [16]. She graduated from the Volgo-Vyatskaya Gosudarstvennoy Sluzhby Academy under the President of the Russian Federation, with a degree in State and Municipal Administration [3][4].
She completed her studies at the Academy while already competing on the pageant circuit: in the summer of 2002, at the time of her victory at "Krasa Rossii," she was 24 years old and in her fourth year [15][17]. After the competitions, she worked as a leading specialist for the all-Russian public movement "Krasa Rossii" [16].
Beauty Pageants
The "Miss Nizhny Novgorod" competition has been held in the city since 1996; the first winner was schoolgirl Irina Svetlitskaya. In 1999 the title went to Tatarintseva [17].
The final of the all-Russian competition "Krasa Rossii — 2002" was held on July 25 in Moscow, at the circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard. Second, third, and fourth places were awarded by the jury to Yekaterina Filimonova from Karelia, Ksenia Volkova from Kemerovo, and Nizhny Novgorod's Elena Zueva. The annual national competition has been held since 1995 and is open only to winners of regional and city qualifying rounds [14].
Victory gave the right to represent the country at "Miss World — 2002." The competition began in Nigeria, and the final show was held in the United Kingdom; Tatarintseva reached the final [15][17]. She was also first runner-up in the "Miss Asia" competition [1][7].
Sources differ on the 1999 title: the Miss Nizhny Novgorod pageant itself, her party biography, and Komsomolskaya Pravda refer to the Nizhny Novgorod title [1][4][17], while Kommersant, in its report on the 2002 final, wrote that she had won Krasa Rossii ("Beauty of Russia") three years earlier as well [14].
From her modeling years there also survives a television episode: Tatarintseva appeared on the show Fear Factor, where she described how she had fallen on stage during one of the beauty pageants [16].
Tatyana Kokina-Slavina's profile piece dates her first appearance at Miss Nizhny Novgorod to 1997: the jury awarded victory to nineteen-year-old Anna, but five minutes before the results were announced she declined the crown — her fiancé was opposed; she returned to the pageant in 1999 and took first place, though she fell on stage after becoming tangled in her full-skirted gown [36].
The same profile explains the discrepancy regarding Krasa Rossii 1999 as follows: at the time, Tatarintseva finished second, with the jury giving the win to Yelena Yefimova of Novokuznetsk, and the title passed to the Nizhny Novgorod contestant later, when the winner encountered difficulties fulfilling the terms of her contract [36]. A reference entry in the magazine Krasivye Lyudi also lists her as vice-miss of Krasa Rossii — 99 [37].
In that same year of 1999 she competed in a pageant in the Philippines: Krasivye Lyudi magazine calls it Vice-Miss Asia — 99, while Kokina-Slavina's profile calls it Miss Pacific Ocean [37][36]. Regarding Miss World — 2002, the magazine's reference entry specifies her result: the top twenty [37].

The top prize was again awarded to Anna Tatarintseva, a 24-year-old native of Nizhny Novgorod now living in Moscow, who had already won the title in 1999.
Through the Eyes of the Press
The 2002 victory also made it into the national news feeds: Lenta.ru reported on the new "Krasa Rossii" on July 26, 2002 [34]. The Nizhny Novgorod edition of AiF wrote about Tatarintseva in a roundup on the fates of beauty pageant winners [35]; both AiF and the essay by Kokina-Slavina cite the same model-card figures — height 175 centimeters and measurements 90-60-90 [35][36].
A 2003 essay also recounted her appearance in the Philippines: fans chanted the Nizhny Novgorod woman's name beneath her hotel windows, and one of them continued sending her letters for three more years, addressing the envelopes simply "Russia, Moscow, the Kremlin" [36].

When Anya was defending Russia's honor at the Miss Pacific Ocean pageant in the Philippines, fans chanted under her hotel window: "Anna Tatarintseva! Russia! We love you!"
Fear Factor Show
In 2003, Tatarintseva won the Fear Factor show on NTV [37]. According to Kokina-Slavina's account, contestants were dropped from a height into cold water, had a dog set on them, and were made to balance on a swaying net over a lake; after filming, the Nizhny Novgorod native returned home with bruises and a bite on her leg [36]. She left for the show just before her own wedding, without telling her fiancé [36].
The scariest thing is eating cockroaches. But we were promised that wouldn't happen.
Modeling Work
Tatarintseva pursued modeling alongside her studies at the academy: she took part in fashion shows and beauty pageants and was the face of Schwarzkopf [37].
She later moved to the other side of the runway — helping to organize beauty pageants in Moscow and serving on judging panels [37].
Her Image in Print and Illustration
The Nizhny Novgorod magazine Krasivye Lyudi (Beautiful People) devoted a double-page spread to Tatarintseva: a portrait by Aleksandr Ivasenko, a summary of her titles, and her own column "On Beauty as a Common Heritage" [37].
An illustrated likeness also circulated: a stylized portrait featuring a FreyWille bracelet was published alongside the logos of Mercedes-Benz and the Nizhny Novgorod magazine Fashion & Beauty.

About Herself
Tatarintseva spoke to the publication iVolga about the public nature of her profession, her mindset, her attitude toward fashion, and her favorite places in the city [33].
Amateur photographs have also survived — behind the wheel, on a country trip, on the Volga bank near a boat dock where the pylons of the cable car to Bor are visible.
My profession implies a certain degree of public exposure. And that, I must admit, creates certain difficulties. Perhaps not even difficulties, but constraints: you always have to be prepared to see, on social media that evening, someone's photo of you walking out of a supermarket with grocery bags. That's a joke, of course. Freedom and creativity — these are what make it impossible to enjoy your work without them.
Those around me, I hope, would call me an optimist. I believe in success. And my belief has never let me down. Is overcoming your own fear an extraordinary act? Proving to yourself: "I can do this!" Making sure that willpower is not just an empty phrase? I would say that all my extraordinary acts began with exactly that. And ended in victory.
Style and fashion are about feeling at harmony with yourself — seeing in the mirror exactly the person you "know" yourself to be on the inside. And versatile clothing must above all be comfortable. It should not get in the way of a person being themselves.
I love all of Nizhny Novgorod — from the very center to the working-class outskirts — and my favorite places are those tied to my most cherished personal memories: Rozhdestvenskaya Street, the Fedorovsky Embankment, and the Verkhne-Volzhskaya Embankment.
Between Moscow and Nizhny
A profile in the magazine Krasivye Lyudi ("Beautiful People") describes her life between two cities — Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod — and mentions her yoga practice, Italian language studies, and frequent travel [37].
According to the same profile, Tatarintseva married in 2004, and her son was born that same year [37].
Dobroye Delo Charitable Foundation
She became involved in charitable work during her pageant years: participation in social initiatives was part of the program for contestants vying for the title, and what began as one-off events gradually became ongoing work [11].
In 2015, the Dobroye Delo ("Good Deed") Foundation was established, with Tatarintseva at its helm [11]; the position of foundation director is listed in her deputy profiles for both terms [3][6]. In the autumn of 2015, when she received her mandate, she was referred to as the head of the Dobroye Delo charitable project [5]. In its early years, the foundation's website presented Dobroye Delo as a project created by Nizhny Novgorod model Darya Zhebryakova [29].
In its early days, the foundation also had a visible presence on screen: the Dobroye Delo program aired on the Volga television channel every Tuesday at 18:30, with a repeat Wednesday morning, and Sarovbiznesbank opened a deposit product of the same name, donating 0.1% of each new deposit to the foundation [29].
The foundation assists residents of Nizhny Novgorod Region who find themselves in difficult life circumstances, as well as orphanages, boarding schools, rehabilitation centers, and homes for the elderly and disabled. Its work is grounded in the principle of "small good deeds": rather than running large-scale fundraising campaigns, the foundation addresses specific needs — installing a ramp in an entryway, purchasing food parcels, covering the cost of a rehabilitation course [11].
The foundation's ongoing projects:
- "Your Hour" — a free mobile app through which people in need find volunteers, and volunteers find those they can help [11]
- "Circle of Kindness" — passing items from donors to those who need them, on the condition that the recipient in turn helps someone else [11]
- "Education Without Borders" — providing children from low-income families with computers, laptops, and smartphones with internet access for remote learning [11]
- targeted assistance — fundraising for medical treatment, household appliances, furniture, and other needs of those who apply [11]

Foundation campaigns
As part of the "Plant a Tree" campaign, the foundation donated 150 cedar saplings to representatives of the agricultural academy, who planned to plant an avenue of trees, and purchased 30 sets of regulation uniforms for the youth army unit of School No. 89 in Prioksky District — ankle boots, jackets, berets, trousers, belts, and badges [11].
During the pandemic, the foundation distributed food packages to large families and low-income households; through the "A Bicycle as a Gift" campaign, ten large families from various districts of the city received bicycles [11]. The foundation joined the city project "800 Good Deeds," timed to coincide with the anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod [11].
Through the foundation and her deputy's constituency office, as Nizhegorodskaya Pravda reported, Tatarintseva ran the "Back to School" campaign — collecting backpacks, stationery, sports uniforms, and footwear for children from large and low-income families and children with disabilities; from 2022, assistance was extended to families who had arrived from Ukraine, the Donetsk People's Republic, and the Luhansk People's Republic [10]. In 2023, the foundation's focus shifted to helping refugees and supporting families whose men are serving in the special military operation zone; through the "Get a Child Ready for School" campaign, several dozen first-grader supply kits were collected for the association of large families of Prioksky District and the Myza social services center [13].
Among the beneficiaries whom Tatarintseva spoke about publicly were a bedridden pensioner who had taken up origami; a single father of three daughters from a village in Borsky District; and a young woman with cerebral palsy who had enrolled at the Nizhny Novgorod Gubernatorial College [11]. The foundation's reception office operates at 95 Osharskaya Street — the same address where the deputy's aide also held appointments [9][11].
Anyone can become a volunteer — you don't need to be a superhero or even simply a wealthy person.
Over my time working at the foundation, I have come to understand: no one can be judged or condemned.
Every year, the Dobroye Delo ("Good Deed") charitable foundation that I head takes part in the social campaign "Back to School," within the framework of which a collection of school supplies is organized for children from large families, low-income families, and children with disabilities.
City Duma, 6th Convocation (2015–2020)
On September 21, 2015, Tatаrintseva joined the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma of the 6th convocation on the municipal list of A Just Russia [1][4]. The Duma of this convocation consisted for the first time of 47 deputies instead of 42; twelve mandates were distributed by party lists, of which A Just Russia received five, United Russia received 33, and the Communist Party received five. Those elected from the A Just Russia list included the chief physician of Hospital No. 13, Alexander Razumovsky, the director of School No. 91, Igor Bogdanov, and Tatаrintseva [5].
She initially ran in a single-member constituency, failed to secure the required number of votes, and received her mandate via the party list; she spent 0.85 million rubles on her 2015 election campaign [16].
In this convocation, Tatаrintseva served as deputy chair of the standing committee on economics, industry, and entrepreneurship, and was a member of the standing committee on social policy; she also belonged to the A Just Russia faction [3]. In October 2015, together with Anna Kruglova and Elena Arzhanova, she held a press conference at which the newly elected deputies outlined their plans [16].
The deputy's public reception office opened at 95 Osharskaya Street, entrance "V," and operated on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 to 17:00; between September 2015 and December 2016, it received 31 inquiries [19].
In December 2015, Tatarintseva was shortlisted for the Probuzhdeniye-2015 prize of the Nizhny Novgorod Expert Club in the "New Faces" category — alongside Anna Kruglova and deputy Mikhail Kuznetsov [18]; the news agency "Nizhny Seychas" names her as the laureate of the prize in that category [16].

The 2017 incident
On 24 April 2017, police received a report of unlawful actions on the grounds of a horticultural cooperative in [15] Avtozavodsky District. As Natalya Evsina, the media-relations inspector of the Nizhny Novgorod Municipal Police Department, told Komsomolskaya Pravda, the call came from City Duma deputy Anna Tatarintseva: she stated that during the filming of a television segment about assistance to a large family who had lost their home in a fire, one of the women had inflicted bodily harm on her. Both women then filed statements with the police, and law-enforcement officers were determining whether harm to health had in fact been caused.

Deputy for District No. 35 (2020–2025)
In the 2020 elections, Tatarintseva was elected to the City Duma of the VII convocation from single-member constituency No. 35 [6][8]. The Duma of this convocation consisted of 35 deputies, all elected from single-member constituencies [2]. In the new convocation, she became deputy chair of the standing commission on social policy, joined the standing commission on urban development, construction, and architecture, and took the post of deputy head of the parliamentary group of the party "A Just Russia — Patriots — For Truth" [6].
Constituency No. 35 comprises part of Prioksky District together with territories previously belonging to Nizhny Novgorod Region: the rural settlements of Luch, Kudma (on the Kudma River), and Novinki; the villages of Beshentsevo, Olgino, Komarovo, Kusakovka, Lyakhovo, Novopavlovka, Romashkovo, Sartakovo; and the garden associations "40 Years of Victory" and "Druzhba" [9][26]. Some 29,159 people live here, a significant share of them in settlements and villages, and it is precisely in these remote corners of the constituency that the shortage of assistance and funding is felt most acutely [9][26].
The deputy held personal surgeries on the first Wednesday of each month by prior appointment — at her own public reception office, at the party's regional reception office, online, and during outreach visits; appointments with her aide were held at 95 Osharskaya Street. Free legal consultations were also provided to residents [9][26].

Residents' appeals
The transition from a party-list mandate to a single-member constituency quadrupled the volume of incoming appeals: in 2019, the last "list" year, there were 73; in 2020 there were 292 [22][23].
During 2024, the deputy's public reception office received 315 appeals. They broke down by topic as follows [9]:
- housing and utilities issues — 102: performance of property management companies, roof repairs, façade insulation, basement flooding, sewage overflow, disruptions to water, electricity, and heating supply [9]
- social issues — 95: targeted and material assistance, transportation arrangements, installation of traffic lights and bus shelters, route adjustments, holidays and excursions, support for fire victims [9]
- urban improvement — 77: paving and pothole repairs, street lighting, storm drains, children's sports and play complexes, power lines, snow removal [9]
- civic and administrative matters — 35, and legal matters (land surveying, disputes with developers) — 6 [9]

I receive a great many appeals addressed to me as a deputy. They may concern housing and utilities, or the improvement of local areas. There are many requests and complaints about transport and healthcare. Residents also frequently approach me with general human-interest situations. We take every one of them into our work. Some things work out, and some do not.
Most often, people come to me with housing and utilities issues. This sphere remains the most pressing and important for residents.
District budget funds
On Tatarintseva's initiative, 2 million rubles were allocated from the [9] budget of Nizhny Novgorod to the district in 2024. The money was distributed among schools, kindergartens, and a community cultural center.

What changed in the district
Tatarintseva identified infrastructure failing to keep pace with the rate of development on former regional territories as the district's main issue: the installation of outdoor street lighting networks in almost every settlement, the transfer of street water supply networks to the municipal balance, transport accessibility, and the improvement of bus stops [9]. On her initiative, the installation of speed bumps near socially significant facilities in Kudma and Novinki was explored, and traffic police patrols were conducted [9].
In an interview with the portal "Otkryty Nizhny" at the end of 2023, the deputy counted among the year's achievements the commissioning of all 25 blocks of the Novinki Smart City residential complex — the region's largest long-stalled construction project, begun in 2014 — the opening of School No. 152, and the repair of the road from Novinki to the village of Kusakovka [13]. In 2024, work began in Novinki under the "Forming a Comfortable Urban Environment" programme to develop a public garden between blocks No. 9 and 13 within the boundaries of Suvorov Street: a 0.70-hectare plot with a walking area, children's and sports playgrounds, a skate park, an ice hockey rink, and a rest area with animals [9][13].
Following residents' appeals at a reception in February 2021, trolleybus No. 16 — which had been suspended due to a shortage of rolling stock and drivers — resumed service [24].
A separate undertaking was a tour of the district's schools to inspect school meals: together with a representative of the district education department and the parent community, the deputy visited Schools No. 134, No. 88 "Novinskaya", No. 132, and No. 89 [9].
For breakfast, just like the children, we were served Druzhba porridge, a hot open sandwich, a coffee drink, and a fermented dairy product. For lunch, vermicelli soup with meat, mashed potatoes with cutlets, a vegetable platter, and tea.
If you work in charity, there are no easy times — there are always people who need urgent help.
Civic Work and Acknowledgements
On March 11, 2025, Tatаrintseva presented a jubilee medal marking the 80th anniversary of Victory to Nadezhda Afinogenova, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War who had worked for many years as a nursery aide and cook at a kindergarten [28]. On May 19, 2025, she congratulated the regional branch of the All-Russian Society of the Blind on the organization's centenary and presented letters of appreciation to its activists [27].
The 2024 report lists the following acknowledgements received by the deputy: from the Volga District of the National Guard troops — for assistance with the amateur arts review competition "Soldiers of Counter-Terrorism"; from the Myza social services center of Prioksky District — for help organizing an event for Family Day; from School No. 89 in the settlement of Kudma — for assistance in developing the school's Yunarmiya movement and creating a patriotic space; and from the Radiy sports school, the Prioksky deanery of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese, the Alexander Nevsky regional organization of the All-Russian Society of the Disabled, the Molodyozhny culture and leisure center, and the TOS Megapolis [9].
Over its hundred years of existence, the All-Russian Society of the Blind has brought together strong, wise, and truly radiant people.
End of Term
The final session of the seventh convocation of the City Duma was held on July 23, 2025 [2]. Following the vote of September 12–14, 2025, the first convocation of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma was formed: the new numbering reflects the merger of the city with the Kstovsky Municipal District, which increased the number of constituencies and seats from 35 to 39 [2]. Constituency No. 35 was won by Mikhail Yevstifeyev of the Just Russia — Patriots — For Truth party [2][12].
Of the deputies from the 7th convocation, 25 were elected to the new Duma, including chairman Evgeniy Chintsov, deputy chairman Nikolay Sataev, and Oksana Smolina; Tatarintseva's mandate ended with the convocation [2].
2026 State Duma Election
On 4 July 2026, at the congress of the party "A Just Russia — Patriots — For Truth," Tatarintseva was confirmed as a candidate for the State Duma in Nizhny Novgorod single-member constituency No. 132 [31].
Constituency No. 132 encompasses the Leninsky and Prioksky Districts of Nizhny Novgorod, Arzamas, Sarov, Pervomaysk, and a number of other territories; seven candidates are registered in it — from the Greens, Rodina, the CPRF, United Russia, the LDPR, the Russian Pensioners' Party, and A Just Russia. In the electoral documents, Tatarintseva is listed as director of the charitable foundation "Dobroye Delo" ("Good Deed"), born in 1977 [30][32]. Voting takes place on 18–20 September 2026 [32].
