The Nizhny Novgorod Regional Information Center (NORIC) is a state autonomous media holding company of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, registered on June 29, 2017. It brings together newspapers, news agencies, and digital media projects operating within the region. The founder is the constituent entity of the Russian Federation — the Nizhny Novgorod Region (represented by the relevant executive authorities). Its registered address is 151B Maxim Gorky Street, Nizhny Novgorod.[1]

Composition and Scale

According to the holding company's own figures, it comprises 15 media outlets and media projects, with a weekly audience exceeding 800,000 readers of print and digital publications and more than 6,000,000 article views per week. The editorial staff numbers over 80 content creators; the holding's social media accounts have more than 190,000 subscribers.[2]

NORIC's constituent members include, among others, the newspapers Nizhegorodskaya Pravda, Nizhegorodskiye Novosti, Zemlya Nizhegorodskaya, Novoe Delo. Regional Edition, the weekly Nizhegorodsky Sport (founded January 31, 1994), and the news agencies NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" and NTA-Privolzhye.[2][3]

The publishing history of several outlets within the holding spans, by the organization's own reckoning, 109 years in the media market — meaning its roots reach back to the pre-revolutionary Nizhny Novgorod press.[2]

Infrastructure and Services

NORIC has its own conference hall of 100 sq. m, designed to host press conferences, briefings, round tables, online conferences, presentations, master classes, and seminars. The hall accommodates up to 80 people and features flexible furniture arrangements to suit different event formats. It is equipped with multimedia equipment, a sound system (8 wireless microphones), air conditioning, and Wi-Fi. The venue is located at 151B M. Gorky Street, Room 4.[4]

The conference hall also serves as a public venue: in September 2026, for instance, it hosted a press conference presenting the results of archaeological excavations at the site of the demolished Mytny Market on Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street, at which Alexey Sviridov, a researcher at the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, presented his findings.[3]

Management and Editorial Staff

Natalya Vyacheslavovna Rodionova has served as Director of NOIC since its registration.[1] The Editor-in-Chief of Nizhegorodskaya Pravda is Larisa Avdeyeva; of Nizhegorodskiye Novosti — Andrey Kleshchyov (since 2018); of Zemlya Nizhegorodskaya — Elena Belyayeva; of Novoye Delo — Vadim Andryukhin; and of the NTA-Privolzhye news agency — Oksana Kolotushkina (since November 15, 2023).[2][3]

Andrey Kleshchyov, who heads Nizhegorodskiye Novosti, has worked in journalism since the mid-1980s and has been with that newspaper's editorial staff since 1995. In 2024 he was elected chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Union of Journalists.[3]

Legal and Financial Status

The organization is registered as a state autonomous institution of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation (OGRN 1175275048321, INN 5260444536). Its primary activity under OKVED is newspaper publishing (code 58.13). According to public procurement records, by 2026 the holding had concluded 435 government contracts totaling approximately 496.7 million rubles. No records of bankruptcy or account freezes have been reported.[1]
