Yevdokimova Natalya Mikhaylovna (1945, Gorky — September 15, 2026, Nizhny Novgorod) — a Nizhny Novgorod hematologist and internist, Distinguished Worker of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, who for decades served as chief freelance hematologist of the Ministry of Healthcare of Nizhny Novgorod Region.[1]
Education and Professional Career
Born in 1945 in Gorky into a physician's family.[1] In 1969 she graduated from the Gorky Medical Institute named after Kirov.[1]
From 1970 to 2002 she worked at the regional N. A. Semashko Hospital, rising from resident physician to head of the hematology department.[2] Alongside her primary position, she served for many years as chief freelance hematologist of the Ministry of Healthcare of Nizhny Novgorod Region.[1]
From the earliest years of her medical career she participated in sanitary aviation work as a flight internist and hematologist, traveling to central district hospitals throughout the region to provide consultative and emergency care to patients. Over the course of her career, Yevdokimova published approximately 40 papers in specialized medical journals.[3][2]
From 2002 to 2012 she headed Therapeutic Department No. 2 of the Volga District Medical Center of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia. For her high level of professional excellence, Yevdokimova was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples.[3][1]
Legacy
Natalya Mikhaylovna Evdokimova passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 81.[2] The death of the physician was announced by Aleksey Nikonov, editor-in-chief of the publication Statsionar-press.[2] A civil memorial service was held on September 17, 2026, at 12:30 at the Nizhny Novgorod Crematorium at 27 Zaytseva Street.[1]
After completing her studies at the institute, Evdokimova undertook an internship at the internal medicine clinic under the supervision of Professor Vadim Vogralik, after which she took up the position of resident physician in the hematology department.[3]
