The "Mayak Academy" is a cultural and educational center in Nizhny Novgorod, named after Sakharov). The venue is used for holding major public events of city-wide and federal significance.
Events
In February 2024, the "Mayak Academy" hosted the presentation of the Neimark IT Campus project — a university complex being created on the basis of Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (UNN). The event was attended by Maksut Shadayev, Russia's Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, and Gleb Nikitin.
The center also hosted the International Forum "Sister Cities", during which, in 2026, an agreement establishing a sister-city relationship between Nizhny Novgorod and the Chinese city of Wuxi was signed. The forum was attended by delegations from Novi Sad, Heihe, Harbin, Sukhum, East Sarajevo, Bender, Gomel, Luhansk, and other sister and partner cities of Nizhny Novgorod.
