Main career facts
1933–1938 — worked at the Gorky Automobile Plant as head of the metallographic laboratory and deputy chief of the repair-and-foundry shop. He taught part-time at the institute as an outside assistant from 1930 onward. In 1942–1946 he worked as head of department and chief metallurgist at one of the plants. From 1947 he moved to teaching work at the institute and defended his candidate's dissertation on the graphitization of malleable cast iron. In 1950–1955 he worked as pro-rector (deputy director) for research at the Gorky Polytechnic Institute. He headed the "Metal Science and Powder Metallurgy" department from 1957 to 1972. His scientific work covered metallography and the heat treatment of cast irons. He led and took part in work on powder materials (1958–1982), and was actively involved in organizing industrial production of rolled products from metal powders (1965–1970). Author of dozens of published works and inventions. He supervised a number of candidates of technical sciences.
