Previous places of work
He worked as a foreman in one of the foundry shops of the Gorky Automobile Plant, then studied in postgraduate school (1958- 1961) and defended his candidate's dissertation at the Kharkov Polytechnic Institute (1962). Associate professor of the "Foundry Production" department at GPI (1964-1972), professor from 1972. He served as dean of the metallurgical faculty from 1970 to 1982, and as vice-rector for research from 1982 to 1990. From 1974 he was head of the "Machines and Technology of Foundry Production" department.
Main areas of scientific work
Improving the technology of melting and casting non-ferrous alloys, increasing the density and leak-tightness of castings, research into special casting methods, development of low-pressure casting, computer-aided design of casting technology and tooling, and other areas.

Author of 12 books and textbooks, more than 300 publications, and 47 author's certificates and patents. He supervised 32 candidates of technical sciences and consulted on 4 doctoral dissertations. A major specialist in the field of metallurgical science.
