Key facts of his career
He worked as a foreman at one of the factories near Moscow. Then, at the "Normal" plant, he rose from foreman to chief engineer and first deputy general director. He defended his candidate's and then his doctoral dissertations. From 1985 he worked on the staff of the Polytechnic Institute — head of the departments of "Technology of Metals" and "Metal Science and Powder Metallurgy" (from 1988). Vice-rector for research from 1990 to 1997. During his tenure the specialty "Materials Science in Mechanical Engineering" was opened, and a laser laboratory was organized.
Awards
Order "Badge of Honor," laureate of the USSR Council of Ministers Prize, full member of the Russian Academy of Engineering Sciences. Author of a monograph and more than 100 publications, supervised five candidates of science.
