The Gorodets Psychoneurological Residential Facility (GBU "Gorodets PNI") is a state-run residential institution within the social services system of Nizhny Novgorod Region, intended as a home for elderly people and persons with disabilities who have mental disorders and neurological diseases. The institution has two addresses: the main building is located in Gorodets at 7 Rechnikov Street, with a branch in the selo of Voronino in the Zinyakovsky Selsoviet of Gorodetsky Municipal Okrug.[1][2]

Living Conditions and Services

The facility provides permanent residence, temporary residence (for up to six months), and five-days-a-week accommodation. Four meals a day are served, taking medical recommendations into account. The rooms at the Voronino branch include single, double, and triple occupancy rooms equipped with a television, a staff call button, and adjustable beds; the building has an elevator and an in-room toilet.[2] The grounds of the Gorodets building feature flower beds and a fountain, and there is a kiosk for buying groceries.[1]

Medical and social staff provide round-the-clock monitoring of residents' health, supervision of medication intake, and daily walks. The facility's specializations include care for dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and cancer, as well as rehabilitation after stroke and hip fracture. Placement can be funded from the resident's pension under a state program.[2]

Leisure and Rehabilitation Activities

The facility has a movie theater and a gym; residents take part in therapeutic exercise, art therapy, and music therapy, and workshops are organized. Residents go to summer and winter camps and take part in competitions in various cities.[1][2] The facility's administration helps residents find employment and adapt socially, including support in starting a family.[1]

At the time a number of reviews were published (2024–2025), the director of the facility was Sergey Borisovich Pozdnyakov.[1] The facility was previously headed by Aleksandr Viktorovich Korablev.
