On 8 September 2026 it was announced that the first concert at the new Volga Arena in Nizhny Novgorod would be a performance by the singer Egor Kreed, scheduled for 26 October 2026.[1] It is the first musical event at the venue unconnected with hockey.[1]

Ticket prices range from 2,500 to 7,000 roubles depending on the sector.[4] Soon after sales opened the central sector facing the stage was almost entirely sold out; a little over five thousand seats remained free, and about half of the expensive tickets had already found buyers.[1]

The venue and its first events

The Volga Arena received its commissioning permit in August 2026. The complex covers about 96,000 square metres, and the main arena seats twelve thousand spectators.[2][3] The design allowed for concerts as well as sporting events: the complex is equipped with modern lighting and sound systems.[3]

The arena hosted its first hockey game on 7 September 2026: the local Chaika met Irbis of Kazan and lost 3:5. The official opening was set for 14 September, at the first home match of Torpedo, with a ceremonial programme, a light show and a performance by a national artist.[1]

At the time of the announcement Kreed's concert remained the only non-hockey event confirmed, though according to the venue's representatives requests from other performers filled the calendar as far ahead as June 2027; the names were not disclosed.[1] An ice show with figure skaters in the form of a New Year fairy tale was planned at the arena for late December.[1]
