"Dzerzhinskiye vedomosti" is a socio-political newspaper of Dzerzhinsk and one of the oldest print publications still operating in the city. It was founded in October 2006 by the Government of Nizhny Novgorod Region and the administration of the city of Dzerzhinsk as the official print organ of the municipality.[3] Throughout 2007 it came out twice a month at 8 pages, and from January 18, 2008, it switched to a weekly format of 24 A3-format pages with a print run of at least 5,000 copies.[3] The newspaper's website is d-ved.ru.

History and organizational structure

The first editor-in-chief and head of the municipal institution "Editorial and Publishing House 'Dzerzhinskiye vedomosti'" was Ivan Usov, appointed in December 2007 with the approval of the governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region; previously he had worked in the press service of the Dzerzhinsk administration and as deputy editor-in-chief of the newspapers "Dzerzhinskaya panorama" and "Dzerzhinets."[3] The editorial office was later headed by Nina Shumilova.[4] The current editor-in-chief is Aleksandr Petrovich Rainich.[1]

The newspaper is published by the municipal autonomous institution "Information Center 'Dzerzhinskiye vedomosti'" (MAU "IC 'Dzerzhinskiye vedomosti'"), located at: 9 Dzerzhinsky Avenue, Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region. The institution's director is Pyotr Andreyevich Treskin.[1]
