Alexei Stepanovich Khryapchenkov (born March 3, 1926) is a professor of the "Power Plants and Heat Engines" department at Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev named after R.E. Alekseev, and a Candidate of Technical Sciences.

Education

Leningrad Institute of Water Transport Engineers (1951), marine engineer.

Previous places of work

From 1943 to 1945 he served at the Smolensk district military commissariat; 1951-1953 — worked at the Volga-Don Shipping Company; 1953-1956 — postgraduate studies at the Gorky Institute of Water Transport Engineers. Since 1958 to the present he has worked at Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University, and from 1963 to 1975 was head of the "Ship Power Plants" department.

Publications

Author of the textbook "Ship Boilers" (two editions).

Awards

Medals "For the Victory over Germany", "For Valiant Labour, in Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of V. I. Lenin", "Veteran of Labour", "300 Years of the Russian Fleet", and the badges "Excellent Worker of the Ministry of River Fleet" and "Honoured Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation". He has been awarded ministerial certificates of honour.
