Yevgeny Ivanovich Zudilin is a deputy of the 7th convocation of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Region [1], a member of the Communist Party (KPRF) faction [3]. General director of RUMO Energo LLC [3][4][6] and first secretary of the committee of the Kanavinsky local branch of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the KPRF [2]. In January 2026, at a meeting of the Legislative Assembly's agro-industrial committee, he jokingly suggested using the "Oreshnik" missile system against giant hogweed [7][14].

Biography

On July 6, 2016, the regional conference of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the KPRF put forward a list of candidates for the elections to the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Region. Zudilin was placed in regional group No. 6 together with Nikolai Sataev and Maxim Bulanov [9].

In the 2021 elections he was registered as a KPRF candidate for single-mandate district No. 6; the registration data listed his position as deputy general director for production of Rumo Energo LLC [5]. Candidates from United Russia won all 25 districts, while the KPRF received five mandates based on the party-list vote [10].

By decision of the 1st Plenum of the committee of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the KPRF, held on December 14, 2024, Zudilin is a member of the branch committee's bureau [2].

Outside parliament

RUMO Energo LLC was registered on April 24, 2019, in Nizhny Novgorod, at 13 Admiral Nakhimov Street. Its main line of business is electricity transmission and technological connection to distribution grids, and the company is classified as a micro-enterprise. 90% of its charter capital belongs to JSC Neftegazovye Tekhnologii i Innovatsii (Oil and Gas Technologies and Innovations) [6].

On May 18, 2022, Zudilin, together with Nikolai Sataev, head of the KPRF deputy caucus in the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma, spoke at the last-bell ceremony for ninth-graders of School No. 168 named after I. I. Labuza [11]. On December 21, 2024, the website of the Nizhny Novgorod KPRF branch reported his participation in a children's event at the A. N. Ostrovsky Library [12].

In the Legislative Assembly

Zudilin sits on three committees of the Legislative Assembly: on budget and taxes, on the agro-industrial complex and rural development, and on housing and communal services and the fuel and energy complex [1]. In a review of the 7th convocation published by the news agency "Nizhny Seychas," he was named among 19 deputies who are businessmen and top managers [4].

On January 20, 2026, the agro-industrial committee discussed plans to combat giant hogweed. During the discussion Zudilin jokingly suggested using the "Oreshnik" system to destroy the thickets in the forests, and committee chairman Igor Tyurin called such a proposal an excessive measure [7][14]. "Nizhny Seychas" returned to this episode on February 17, 2026, reporting that the ecology committee had approved fines for hogweed [13].

On July 22, 2026, a committee of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Region supported, in its first reading, fines for selling vapes — from 40,000 to 50,000 rubles for officials and from 800,000 to 1 million rubles for legal entities. At the session Zudilin asked about the situation in China, and Minister of Economic Development Alexander Solovyov replied that vape sales are banned there [8].

On August 20, 2026, "Nizhny Seychas" published its sixth influence rating of 7th-convocation deputies. Zudilin ranked 33rd with a total score of 53 points (influence — 33, recognizability — 10, informational activity — 10) and was placed in the "Outsiders. Weak influence" group [3].
