In August 2026, in the Kstovo District, repairs were completed on a stretch of road connecting the village of Blizhneye Borisovo and the village of Rumyantsevo: the carriageway was widened from a single lane to two lanes. The work was carried out under the national project "Infrastructure for Life".[1]

Course of the works

The repair took about a month. The length of the renovated section exceeded one kilometer, and the contract cost 23.7 million rubles.[2] The contractor laid a leveling course and a top layer of asphalt concrete, reinforced the road shoulders, restored the edges of the carriageway, and applied new road markings. The road geometry was checked separately: control measurements of the surface width and cross slopes confirmed compliance with standards. The commission accepted the facility without comments.[3]

Before the repair, traffic on the section was impeded by the narrow carriageway and worn-out surface.[4]

Related works

At the same time, repair continued on the road to the village of Blizhneye Borisovo from the Nizhny Novgorod — Saratov highway: the length of this section is 1.8 km, and completion of the work was planned by the end of August 2026.[1]

Context

The repair is part of a broader program: in 2026, the national project planned to bring 64 sections of roads leading to small settlements in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast up to standard.[5] Since 2019, thanks to the national project "Infrastructure for Life" (known until 2025 as "Safe and Quality Roads"), more than 6,600 km of roads have been repaired in the region, and about 140 km of regional highways have been built and reconstructed; in 2025, 761 km of the road network were brought up to standard against a plan of 626 km.[2]
