Education

Graduated from GPI named after A.A. Zhdanov (1974), in metal science, equipment and technology of heat treatment of metals.

Key facts of his career

He began his working life in 1966 as an apprentice fitter, then worked as a pyrometrist, shift foreman, and head of the tooling section. After institute he worked at the Normal plant — from shift foreman to deputy general director for production. In 1983–1985 he studied at the Academy of National Economy under the Council of Ministers of the USSR, majoring in "Economics, Organization of Management and Planning of the National Economy". Since 1986 he has been general director of the Normal association. In 1992 he defended his candidate's dissertation, and in 2001 his doctoral dissertation, on the metallurgical foundations and industrial technologies for manufacturing fastening parts from high-strength titanium alloys.

Awards

The "Honored Aircraft Builder" badge, a gold medal with distinction from the Brussels "Eureka-2000" exhibition, and a medal for the transformation of the Non-Black-Earth Region of the RSFSR.

Membership in public, scientific and other organizations

Member of the Academy of Quality Problems of the Russian Federation. Author of more than 40 scientific works, including 8 monographs; 13 author's certificates and patents, including two foreign ones. Since 2002 he has headed the branch of the "Thermophysics, Automation and Ecology of Furnaces" department at Normal JSC.
