Previous places of work

Began his career as a template-maker fitter at the "Krasnaya Etna" plant; after graduating from the institute, worked as a shop process engineer at a plant in Pavlovo-on-the-Oka; having completed his postgraduate studies, he began working first as an assistant, then as an associate professor and professor at the Gorky Polytechnic Institute; from 1991 to 2008 — deputy head of the Department of Materials Science.

Field of research interests

Research on problems of materials science and technologies for producing filtered, antifriction, and diamond-abrasive tool materials from metal powders. Holds 37 USSR author's certificates for inventions, and patents from the Russian Federation and foreign countries (USA, Japan, United Kingdom, France, and others).

330 scientific works, including 12 books. Under the scientific supervision of V.K. Sorokin, 3 candidate dissertations have been defended.
