«Volga24» is a Nizhny Novgorod regional television channel, part of the largest Nizhny Novgorod Region managed by the state budgetary institution "NGOTRK 'NNTV'".
Also, the "GAZ-24 'Volga'" is a Soviet and Russian passenger car made by the Gorky Automobile Plant, the second "Volga" and the most mass-produced model in the family. It was manufactured from 1970 to 1992 (pilot production batches from 1968); from 1985, a modernized version, the GAZ-24-10, was produced. Almost 1.5 million cars were built in total. On the assembly line the GAZ-24 replaced the first "Volga" — the GAZ-21, production of which ceased in July 1970.
Also, the "GAZ-31029 'Volga'" is a Russian passenger car made by the Gorky Automobile Plant, produced from 1992 to 1997. It was the first "Volga" sold on the open market: the model was built on GAZ-24-10 running gear using body solutions from the "nomenklatura" GAZ-3102. During the years of the GAZ-31029's production the plant reached record output — over 115 thousand cars a year.
Also, the "GAZ-3110 'Volga'" is a Russian passenger car made by the Gorky Automobile Plant, produced from 1997 to 2004. It was a deep modernization of the GAZ-31029 with new body panels and a ZMZ-406 engine; it was the principal "Volga" at the turn of the century.
Also, the "GAZ-3105 'Volga'" is the Gorky Automobile Plant's flagship sedan with permanent all-wheel drive and a V8 engine, conceived as a successor to the "Chaika". It was produced in 1992–1996; only 55 cars of the small series were ever assembled.
Also, the "GAZ-3111 'Volga'" is a Russian passenger car made by the Gorky Automobile Plant, produced from 2000 to 2004. It was an attempt to create a business-class "Volga" with an original retro design; because of its high price, only around 420 cars of the small series were assembled. The fate of the GAZ-3111 repeated the story of the GAZ-3105: an equally advanced and equally unaffordable car failed to find enough buyers.
Also, the "GAZ-31105 'Volga'" is a Russian passenger car made by the Gorky Automobile Plant, produced from 2004 to 2008. It was the last "classic" Volga — a restyling of the GAZ-3110, which it replaced on the assembly line. Over four years, just over 190 thousand cars were built; the assembly line was stopped in the autumn of 2008. After production of the GAZ-31105 ended, the plant moved to a licensed design — the Volga Siber.
Place within the media holding
The television channel is one of three structures within the NNTV holding. Besides "Volga24", the holding includes the NNTV broadcasting company — Russia's oldest regional television channel — and the "Vremya N" news agency. The parent organization of the whole group is the state budgetary institution "NGOTRK 'NNTV'".
The connection with NNTV is historical: the successor to Soviet-era Gorky television was NNTV, which subsequently became the foundation for the holding of which "Volga24" is a part.
