Kravets Vladislav Nikolaevich

Kravets Vladislav Nikolaevich (born April 21, 1940) — professor at the Department of Automobiles and Tractors of the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev named after R.E. Alekseev, Doctor of Technical Sciences.

Education

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Gorky Polytechnic Institute named after A.A. Zhdanov, major in "automobiles and tractors," 1962 (diploma with honors).

Career

Has worked at NSTU (Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University) since 1962. In 1974–1982 and 1990–1996 — dean of the Automotive Faculty; in 1982–1986 — head of the educational-methodological department and deputy vice-rector for academic affairs; in 1985–1992 — vice-rector for targeted individual training of specialists. In 1995–2005 — concurrently: head of the certification bureau, then deputy general director for quality and certification at the Technoservis holding. Since 2006 — head of the scientific and technical information department at the non-profit partnership "Institute for Certification of Automotive and Motor Equipment"; in 2007–2008 — professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Kovrov State Technological Academy named after V.A. Degtyarev; since 2008 — quality management system certification expert at OAO "Military Engineering Center."

Research interests

Study of operational properties, development of scientific design principles, and improvement of the design of wheeled vehicles; research into problems of higher education in the country. Author of 23 inventions protected by author's certificates and patents.

Publications

490 scientific and educational-methodological works, including more than 30 books and brochures. Ten textbooks were granted the approval stamp of the Ministry of Education and the Educational-Methodological Association of Universities of the Russian Federation in the field of transport vehicles and transport-technological complexes. Under V.N. Kravets's scientific supervision, 4 candidate dissertations were defended.

Full member of the Academy of Quality Problems of the Russian Federation and the Russian Academy of Transport. Deputy chairman of the Educational-Methodological Commission for the specialty "automobile and tractor engineering" of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. Member of the All-Union "Znanie" ("Knowledge") Society, the Russian Pedagogical Society, and the Association of Automotive Engineers of the Russian Federation. Member of the editorial board for publishing collections of scientific works of the Automotive Faculty of Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University. Distinguished Worker of Higher Education of the USSR. Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation. Veteran of Labor.

The badge "Winner of the 1973 Socialist Competition," the badge "Shock Worker of the Ninth Five-Year Plan," the breast badge "For Excellent Achievements in Higher Education of the USSR," the medal "For Valorous Labor," and a Certificate of Honor from the USSR Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education.
