Key facts of his career
From 1957 to 1959 he worked as a lathe operator at a plant. 1965-1968 — postgraduate studies. From 1969 to 1972 he worked at the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Polytechnic Institute, rising from assistant to head of department. From 1972 — associate professor of the "Theory and Structural Mechanics of Ships" department at the Gorky Polytechnic Institute. In 1981 he was elected head of the "Shipbuilding" department. In 1991 he was awarded the title of professor. In 1996 he defended his doctoral dissertation. He is the founder and head of a scientific school researching new technologies for breaking ice cover and the related fundamental and applied studies of ship-ice interaction. Under his leadership a unique technical system was developed — a prototype icebreaking platform on an air cushion weighing 300 tons, with no analogues in Russia. He has trained 12 candidates of science, one of whom went on to become a doctor of science. He is the author of more than 200 scientific and methodological works, including 4 monographs, 20 inventor's certificates and patents.

Medals "Labor Veteran" and "300 Years of the Russian Navy." Badges of honor: "Inventor of the USSR" and "Gold Medal of the VDNKh." Awarded Certificates of Honor by ministries.
