The Torpedo residential complex (ЖК «Торпедо») is a large housing development in Avtozavodsky District of Nizhny Novgorod, under construction since 2018. The developer is Terminal Group of Companies (active in the market since 2000), working alongside affiliated entities including LLC SZ «AGK» (on the market since 2015). The complex is located on Boris Vidyayev Street (also referenced by the address Maloyetazhnaya Street) along the Oka River, near the regional natural monument "Malyshevskiye Grivy." In terms of scale, the developer positions the project as the largest in the group's portfolio.[1][3]
Composition and Specifications
The project calls for the construction of 39–40 buildings of 10 and 17 stories on a 44-hectare site. As of 2026, 21–22 buildings have been commissioned, with 3 more under construction; the completion deadline for the final phases is the third quarter of 2027.[1][2] The total number of apartments in the project is approximately 5,700; around 3,900 have been commissioned.[1] The buildings are constructed from reinforced-concrete panels and brick, with ceiling heights of 2.55–2.85 m. Apartments are delivered with full finishing (wallpaper, linoleum, stretch ceilings, plumbing fixtures, doors, and utility meters).[3][4]
The microdistrict's plans include two preschool facilities with a combined capacity of 485 places, a school for 1,100 students, a shopping center with a fitness club, and a dedicated boiler house. Open-air parking is designed for 1,481 spaces.[2] Courtyards are equipped with children's playgrounds, basketball courts, outdoor exercise equipment, cycling paths, and walking areas.[3]
Concept and Name
The complex's name is a reference to the Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo Hockey Club". The project's stated concept is to create an environment for a healthy lifestyle and to promote sport among residents of Avtozavodsky District.[3][4] The slogan used in the developer's marketing materials is: "Live in comfort — be friends with sport."[1]
Location and Transport
The Park Kultury metro station is about a 10-minute walk from the complex, as is the GAZ Palace of Culture. The microdistrict has its own dedicated bus stop.[2] During the summer of 2026, the Torpedo residential complex was served by night bus route No. 190, running to the Geroy ferry landing; approximately 7,200 passengers used it over June–August 2026.[2] Near the complex are a pine forest, an oak grove, and ski and cycling trails.[2]
