Tikhonova Elena Viktorovna (born May 8, 1949, Gorky) — a Nizhny Novgorod educator, director of School No. 55 on Meschera Lake in Kanavino since 1983, Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation, and a manager of the highest qualification category.[1]
Komsomol and the District Committee
She graduated from the Department of History and Philology at Lobachevsky University in 1974.[1]
She began her career as senior Pioneer leader at School No. 135, then served as an instructor in the student youth department of the Regional Committee of the Komsomol, as secretary of the Gorky City Committee of the Komsomol, and as an instructor at the Kanavinsky District Committee of the CPSU — meaning she came to the school from the party-Komsomol apparatus of the very same district where the school is located.[1]

School No. 55
The school was opened in 1982, and Tikhonova took charge of it the following year.[1][2] The building stands at 37 Sergey Yesenin Street; the school's catchment area covers buildings on Yesenin Street, Akimov Street, Meshchersky Boulevard, and Proletarskaya Street — that is, nearly the entire Meschera Lake microdistrict.[2][3]
As an independent legal entity, the school was registered on November 8, 1995, by the city's Committee for the Management of Municipal Property and Land Resources; today it is the Municipal Autonomous General Education Institution "School No. 55," with the Department of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod city administration as its founder.[3][4]
By the late 2000s, Tikhonova had been leading the school for more than a quarter of a century. She was a delegate to the All-Union Congress of Education Workers in 1989 and the author of publications on pedagogy.[1]

Among its alumni, the school counts specialists in medicine, law, and the arts.[2]
Outside school, Tikhonova's interests included theater, music, and handicrafts, while reference publications list pedagogy as her creative field.[1]
