Alexander Feliksovich Tabachnikov (born 10 March 1965, Gorky) is a Nizhny Novgorod politician and builder, a deputy of the Regional Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Region for four consecutive terms (since 2006), a member of the "United Russia" faction [1][2], and from 2012 to 2021 deputy chairman of the regional parliament [2]. Outside politics he is deputy director for capital construction at JSC "Atomenergoprom" [1][2]. In the influence rating of 7th-convocation LANNR deputies compiled by the news agency "Nizhny Seychas" in 2026, he ranks in the top ten — the "strong influence" group [3].
Biography
He was born on 10 March 1965 in Gorky. In 1989 he graduated with honors from the Gorky Civil Engineering Institute named after Chkalov, specializing in industrial and civil construction. He did his mandatory military service in a combat engineer special unit of the engineering troops in the Far East, taking part in live mine-clearance operations [1][4]. From 1989 to 1991 he was senior engineer at the department of metal structures of his home institute [2].
From 1991 he was in business: deputy director of the small enterprise "Firma Alpo", director of the private enterprise "TAU", from 1992 to 1997 president of JSC "Verna", and from 1998 to 2007 general director of LLC "InterOil" [2]. He then returned to the construction sector in municipal and regional service: from 2007 to 2008 deputy director of the Nizhny Novgorod Region road-construction administration, and from 2008 to 2012 deputy head of the Nizhny Novgorod administration for the construction of the metro, bridges and road networks [2][4].
Outside parliament
From 2017 to 2018 he was adviser to the director general of the state corporation "Rosatom", and since 2018 has been deputy director for capital construction at JSC "Atomenergoprom" [2]. According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (EGRUL), he also held the post of secretary of the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of "United Russia" — head of its legal entity (the register states the fact without dates; since December 2019 the branch has been headed by Governor Gleb Nikitin) [5].
He is keen on mountain trekking, mountaineering, diving and motorcycles; he is married and has raised a daughter [4].
In the Legislative Assembly
He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in 2006, and has since been a deputy of the IV, V, VI and VII convocations [1][2][3][4].
