Svetlana Belozerova is a Nizhny Novgorod healthcare administrator who has served as Chief Physician of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Children's Clinical Hospital (NODKB) since November 2022. Her full name is Svetlana Cheslavovna Belozerova; in official documents she appears as Chief Physician of the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution of Nizhny Novgorod Region "NODKB".[4][1]

Career

Before entering Nizhny Novgorod's healthcare system, Belozerova headed Children's Polyclinic No. 4 in Murmansk.[2] In 2019 she was appointed Deputy Minister of Healthcare of Nizhny Novgorod Region, where she established herself, in the assessment of Minister David Melik-Guseinov, as an experienced specialist in organizing regional healthcare systems.[2]

On 15 November 2022, Belozerova was appointed Chief Physician of NODKB. The appointment was announced by Melik-Guseinov on his Telegram channel; he noted that the decision had been made in part at the direction of Governor Gleb Nikitin, who had set the task of transforming the regional children's hospital into the best medical institution in the country.[1][2] Her predecessor as Chief Physician of NODKB from July 2021 had been Elena Guryeva, who combined that role with leading Children's City Clinical Hospital No. 1.[1][3]

Activities as Chief Physician of NODKB

Under Belozerova's leadership, the hospital was included among the recipients of federal funding: 1.8 billion rubles from the federal budget were planned for the renovation of NODKB and the purchase of new equipment in 2022–2024.[2] In 2026, a medical aviation helipad was opened on the NODKB grounds as part of the "Health Quarter." Belozerova described the facility as a tool for "reducing travel time and risks for patients and optimizing labor and time costs for medical staff." Belozerova is a member of the Expert Council for the Implementation of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Development Strategy, which brings together representatives of science, business, government bodies, and public organizations of the region.[4][3]
