Sormovskoye Shosse is a street in the trans-river part of Nizhny Novgorod, running within the Moskovsky District. It is one of the main thoroughfares linking the central areas of the trans-river part of the city with Sormovo.
Transport significance
Sormovskoye Shosse serves as one of the transit arteries providing a link between the Moskovsky and Sormovsky Districts. To the north it turns into Komintern Street (formerly Bolshaya), which historically formed part of the great road to Moscow and Yaroslavl that existed even before the construction of Moskovskoye Shosse in the mid-19th century.
Location
The highway is located in the Moskovsky District of the city. Other streets in the district include Moskovskoye Shosse, Komintern Street, Yaroshenko Street, Chaadaev Street, Ryabtseva Street, and Burnakovsky Proezd.
At Sormovskoye Shosse, house 1a, the Burevestnik Central Research Institute was located in 1971–1973.[1]
