Prospekt Oktyabrya is a street in the Avtozavodsky District of Nizhny Novgorod. It is one of the main thoroughfares of the city's left-bank (Zarechnaya) part.

Location and significance

The prospekt is mentioned among the main streets of the Avtozavodsky District alongside Busygin Avenue, Prospekt Molodyozhny, Kirova, and Prospekt Ilyicha, as well as Dyakonova Street, Perekhodnikova, Ulitsa Gaidara, Chelyuskintsev, Sportivnaya, and others.

From history

In small wooden temporary houses on Prospekt Oktyabrya, hockey goaltender Viktor Konovalenko lived in his younger years; his future wife Valentina was a neighbor — she lived on the nearby Prospekt Ilyicha. At various times, one of the offices of the Nizhny Novgorod travel agency "Rosinka" was located on the prospekt.

At Prospekt Oktyabrya, building 2a, fire station No. 9 was located from 1932 to 1941.[1]
