Worked at the School named after the 50th Anniversary of October in Priozersk: first as a primary school teacher (1971), then as deputy principal for academic and methodological affairs (1976), and from 1979 as school principal. From 1984, deputy principal for educational affairs, and from 1987, principal of Municipal Secondary School No. 49 in Sovetsky District of Nizhny Novgorod.
