"MK in Nizhny Novgorod" is a regional weekly newspaper and online publication, the Nizhny Novgorod edition of the national newspaper "Moskovsky Komsomolets". The newspaper is distributed in A3 format with 32 pages, 14 of which are given over to the Nizhny Novgorod editorial office; the publication's website is available at nn.mk.ru.[2]

History and Changes of Publisher

In December 2015, the rights to publish the newspaper passed to OOO "R i M", part of the Stolitsa Nizhny group of companies. The corresponding agreement was signed in Moscow on December 10, 2015: on behalf of the new publisher it was signed by the director of OOO "R i M", Elada Nagornaya, and on behalf of the national "MK" by Oleg Vorobyov, deputy general director of ZAO "Editorial Office of the Newspaper 'Moskovsky Komsomolets'". The transfer of rights took effect in January 2016; the first issue under the new publisher came out on January 13, 2016.[2]

By that time the Stolitsa Nizhny group itself already published the magazines Bellissimo and "Stolitsa Nizhny", the weekly newspaper "Patriots of Nizhny", and the online publication stnmedia.ru. Elada Nagornaya noted that the launch of "MK in Nizhny Novgorod" was the holding's first experience of publishing a regional edition of a national brand and its first move from free distribution to sales and subscriptions.[2]

Tatyana Mikhaylova remained editor-in-chief through the change of publisher; Maksim Kalashnikov, who had previously worked on the magazine "Stolitsa Nizhny" and headed the NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" news agency, was appointed director of the publication. The editorial office was located at 117 Maxim Gorky Street, in the Stolitsa Nizhny business center.[2]

Subsequently, the publisher of the online edition nn.mk.ru became OOO "Sova" (OGRN 1155262015314, registered on November 18, 2015), located at: Verkhne-Pecherskaya Sloboda, building 44, premises 1. The general director and sole founder of OOO "Sova" is Svetlana Mikhaylovna Dosaeva.[1][3]

The online publication nn.mk.ru is registered with Roskomnadzor; the media registration number is EL No. FS 77-57533 of March 27, 2014. The founder of the media outlet is AO "Editorial Office of the Newspaper 'Moskovsky Komsomolets'". As of the most recent available snapshot of the site, the editor-in-chief is listed as Anton Vladimirovich Ganin.[1]
