In 1979-1981 — study affairs officer of the dean's office of the Faculty of History and Philology at GSU. From 1981 to November 2001 — assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor, professor, deputy dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Mechanics, head of the Department of Social Sciences, organizer and head of the "public relations" specialty at the Dzerzhinsk branch of NSTU. From 1998 to 1999 (part-time), and from 2001 to June 2002 — professor at the Department of Political Science of Lobachevsky UNN. From 2002 to the present — at NNGASU.
Main area of research
History of the Great Patriotic War. Author of more than 150 published academic works, including 3 monographs (one co-authored), 3 collective scholarly-reference biographical publications on the Nizhny Novgorod elite, 5 volumes of the documentary publication "Society and Power," and a textbook (co-authored). Under the scholarly supervision of G.V. Serebryanskaya, 3 candidate dissertations have been defended.

Member of the Public Council under the Directorate of the Federal Drug Control Service (FSKN) of Russia for Nizhny Novgorod Region. Member of the Council of the Minor Academy of Public Administration. Deputy chairman of the section on educational issues of the Council of Rectors of Nizhny Novgorod Region.
