The GAZ-31105 "Volga" is a passenger car made by the Gorky Automobile Plant, produced from 2004 to 2008. A restyling of the GAZ-3110 "Volga", it was the last car of the classic Volga line going back to the GAZ-24.[1][2]
End of the line
The model was the culmination of a family the plant had been developing since 1970: the unitized body and overall layout traced back to the GAZ-24, with updates limited to styling, equipment, and individual components.[2]
Production ceased in 2008. It was succeeded not by a new "Volga" but by the licensed sedan Volga Cyber on an American platform — a decision that showed the plant was no longer capable of developing its own passenger car.
