Key Facts of His Career
He worked as a foreman of the steel-foundry shop at the Zlatoust Works and at the Gorky Metallurgical Plant. In 1952 he defended his candidate's dissertation on the results of research into stainless steels. From 1961 to 1972 he headed the Gorky Laboratory for Continuous Steel Casting of TsNIIChermet, and defended his doctoral dissertation in 1964. He carried out extensive research on the continuous casting of various steels and on the production and study of multilayer steels and alloys. On a part-time basis he taught a number of lecture courses at the Polytechnic Institute (1955-1960; 1964-1972). From 1973 he moved to full-time work at the Polytechnic Institute as head of the Department of "Metal Science and Powder Metallurgy". Extensive contract-funded and state-budget research into powder materials was carried out with enterprises in the cities of Moscow, Leningrad, Kyiv, Omsk, Ufa, and others. Author of 5 books, more than 190 scientific papers, and 30 author's certificates and patents. Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR.
State Awards
Order of the Red Banner of Labour, the medal "For Distinguished Labour". He trained 17 candidates of technical sciences and consulted on doctoral dissertations.
