The Dzerzhinskkhimregion Association of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs is an association of industrial enterprises and organizations in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, founded in 1990.[3] As of early 2024, its membership included more than forty enterprises from various branches of industry, as well as educational institutions.[3] The association positions itself as a platform for interaction between Dzerzhinsk's business community and regional and city authorities, as well as federal industrial bodies.
History and Structure
The association was founded in Dzerzhinsk in 1990; among its original members was the Sverdlov Plant, one of the largest enterprises in the city.[4] In the 2010s the organization's membership changed: a number of enterprises left and later returned. In 2022 the Sverdlov Plant rejoined the association, which Dzerzhinskkhimregion president Dmitry Ogorodtsev took as evidence that the association had regained its status as a reliable partner.[4]
At a meeting on February 8, 2024, three new enterprises were admitted to the association: Montazhkomplektstroy LLC, Alterkhim-Pro LLC, and Sofit LLC. Presidential elections were held at the same time: the association's members unanimously re-elected Dmitry Ogorodtsev, general director of OKAPOL JSC, who has headed the association since 2021. The meeting was attended by the head of Dzerzhinsk Ivan Noskov, the president of the Russian Union of Enterprises and Organizations of the Chemical Complex Viktor Ivanov, and the general director of the Corporation for the Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Igor Ischenko.[3]
Activities
The association holds meetings on a regular basis. At a meeting in September 2017, Alexander Zdyumaev, director of the Department of Economics, Industry, Construction, and Ecology of the Dzerzhinsk administration, presented the results of the city's industry for the first half of that year: the commercial turnover of large and medium-sized organizations came to 53.5 billion rubles, the volume of goods shipped from own production rose by 4.4% to 42.6 billion rubles, and investment in fixed capital by large and medium-sized organizations came to 2.8 billion rubles (127.9% of the 2016 level). The meeting was attended by Valery Tsybanev, general director of the Nizhny Novgorod Association of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and the heads of the city's industrial enterprises.[2]
In 2021, Dzerzhinskkhimregion developed a three-stage development program through 2030, covering workforce training and cooperation with universities, improvement of the tax payment system, support for small and medium-sized businesses, and the creation of infrastructure for the OKA-Polymer industrial park and the Kulibin special economic zone. At the same time, the association was assigned the role of foundation for forming a chemical industry cluster.[1] Yevgeny Lyulin, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Region, outlined at a meeting that same year the prospects for Dzerzhinsk enterprises' participation in major projects of LUKOIL, Gazprom, and Transneft.[1]
In 2022, amid sanctions pressure, the focus of the meeting shifted to issues of parallel import of equipment and components: the Nizhny Novgorod Region Import and Import Substitution Center arranged parallel import of the necessary equipment for Dzerzhinsk companies and also helped secure an order for the development and manufacture of motor oils. The same meeting discussed the creation of the H2O park on the territory of the Special Economic Zone "Kulibin" and the formation of an Eco-Technopark, in which several member companies of the association were to be linked into a single cross-sector scheme.[4]
One area of the association's work is support for the vocational education system: in 2023 the association provided financial support for Dzerzhinsk's participation in the "Professionalitet" program of the "Education" national project, and in 2024 a similar application was being prepared for the Dzerzhinsk Chemical and Mechanical College.[3]
