The drone attack on Nizhny Novgorod on August 4, 2026 was an episode of the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict that took place on the night of August 3-4 and in the early morning of August 4, 2026. Air defense forces repelled a strike by unmanned aerial vehicles over the city; no residents were harmed.[1]

Course of events

During the night and in the early morning of August 4, 2026, a drone attack was repelled over Nizhny Novgorod. Shalabayev Yuri reported the incident on his channel in the MAX messenger: none of the residents were harmed. According to him, partial damage to several vehicles was recorded; specialists worked at the sites.[1]

Gleb Nikitin reported that the same night Nizhny Novgorod Region; there were no casualties in the region.[1][2] Air defense forces of the Ministry of Defense and reservists of the "Bars-NN" detachment, whom the governor thanked for their combat work, took part in repelling the attack; residents of Kstovsky District reported hearing sounds of explosions around five in the morning.[2]

Safety measures

City authorities urged residents not to approach the debris of downed aircraft and, if found, to report it immediately to the emergency service number 112.[1]
