Dmitry Yuryevich Volodin (born July 21, 1968, Gorky) is a Nizhny Novgorod entrepreneur, a former deputy from the A Just Russia party, and the owner of a number of companies in the hotel and restaurant business.[3]
Biography and Education
Born in Gorky. From 1986 to 1988 he served in the military, attaining the rank of senior sergeant. In 1993 he graduated from the Faculty of History at Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod State University. That same year he became director of the limited liability company Bratina.[3] He is raising a son and a daughter.[3]
Business Activities
Volodin owns more than ten companies in Russia, specializing mainly in the hotel and restaurant business.[2] In particular, he is the general director and founder of the limited liability company Arktur-NN, registered at 6 Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street, Nizhny Novgorod, and engaged in temporary accommodation services. According to its financial statements for 2025, the company's revenue came to 217.2 million rubles, net profit to 195.3 million rubles, and assets to 526.3 million rubles.[4]
In 2014 Volodin acquired the Krasnye Kazarmy (Red Barracks) complex on the Nizhne-Volzhskaya Embankment — a cultural heritage site of regional significance, built in 1835–1853.[1] In 2026 the state expert review issued a positive opinion on the project to restore the complex's East Building and adapt it for hotel use; the developer on the project is the affiliated limited liability company Vesennie Investitsii.[1]
The limited liability company Alekseevsky Ryad, linked to the entrepreneur, received a plot of land as compensation for the demolition of the Knizhny Novgorod bookstore.[2] In addition, Volodin donated the Nikolskaya Chapel to the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese.[2]
Political Activities
He was a deputy from the A Just Russia party.[2]
Criminal Prosecution
On August 21, 2026, Dmitry Volodin was detained in Nizhny Novgorod. According to a source in the law enforcement agencies, he is suspected of giving a bribe to an employee of Rosreestr in 2023. Searches were conducted overnight in connection with the case.[2]
