Key facts of his career
While studying at the medical institute, he worked as a medical orderly in the emergency hospital and the oncology clinic of Dzerzhinsk. In 1969 he was drafted into the Soviet Army. He served in the Navy on the Baltic in the city of Kronstadt, and was later transferred to Severomorsk. He was demobilized in 1971. In 1977 he was assigned to the Dzerzhinsk Oncology Clinic as a radiologist, where he worked until 1987. From February 1987 to January 1989 he worked as a surgeon at the Dzerzhinsk emergency hospital. From January 1989 he was deputy chief physician of the Hospital for Disabled War Veterans. From January 1991 he was appointed chief physician of that hospital.
From February 1996 he worked as chief physician of the Dzerzhinsk War Veterans Hospital. His total medical service is 30 years, of which 28 years as a practicing physician. He led the construction of, and in 1996 brought into operation, the new regional war veterans hospital, which today serves as a major clinical and diagnostic base for treating war veterans of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast and the entire population of Dzerzhinsk.

Membership in public, scientific and other organizations
Vice-president of the interregional association for war veterans; served as a deputy of the Dzerzhinsk City Duma of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th convocations, where he worked on the budget committee and on the committee for public health, ecology and social protection of the population, and was a member of the Council of Chief Physicians. He saw the main tasks of his work as a deputy in defending the interests of public-sector employees, supporting initiatives aimed at developing healthcare, educational and cultural institutions; he took part in drafting and adopting regulations aimed at increasing subsidies for the most vulnerable categories of citizens, and playing a significant role in improving the social sphere of the "chemical capital"; he took voters' interests into account when forming the city budget and in developing and implementing the Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Dzerzhinsk and matters of social protection of the population; together with fellow deputies and authorized committees, he worked to oversee execution of the city budget and the targeted use of budget funds.
Charity
As a deputy, he provided charitable assistance to schools, hospitals, and the Council of Veterans.
